Plants are at work all around us! They clean the air and water, prevent erosion, provide shelter and food for animals, and more. Our Indispensable Aloe Kit teaches students about one unusual plant. Easily grown, aloe resembles a cactus but is a member of the lily family. Aloe is unique in that it takes in CO2 only at night. It converts the CO2 to an acid, which is stored and later converted to carbohydrates using light energy during the day. The kit includes a terrarium, a packet of aloe seeds, gravel, a stake, planting mix, and instructions.
