Kids can turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost with this accelerated composting method—without setting foot outside! In an airtight, odor-free environment, microorganisms in a grain-based substrate (also known as bokashi) break down organic wastes into a fermented material that can be added to your outdoor garden. This anaerobic method takes just 4-8 weeks to complete (versus 6-8 months for traditional composting). Produces a nutritious compost “tea” that can be used to fertilize indoor plants. Kit includes a portable compost pail and a 2-3 month supply of microorganisms. 11"x11"x16"h, with spigot. The Composter Package comes with the same supply of microorganisms and an online PDF manual containing instructions for a whole school composting program and a range of activities for multiple age groups using the SCD All Seasons Indoor Composter across the curriculum.
