 Create a miniature rainforest habitat in your classroom with our tabletop GrowLab® Compact Light Garden. When kids germinate rainforest plants and participate in hands-on activities about consumption and rainforest loss, they gain a new appreciation for fragile environments.
Rainforest Habitat Package includes:
GrowLab Compact Light Garden (includes an adjustable 2' light fixture with 2 20-watt Gro-Lux™ wide-spectrum tubes [fixture adjusts to 22" high], 1 12"x23" plastic tray, and a 24-hour timer)
5 packets of seeds for plants native to the rainforest (see inset photo): sweet wild banana (an ancestor of the current banana), tree tomato, calico vine, Cuban royal palm, Brazilian monkey pod tree, plus germination instructions (some varieties require long germination times — a great opportunity for germination experiments!)
