| Online Course: Perennials This course begins with the basics: dispelling some perennial myths, deciphering hardiness zone ratings, understanding plants, botanical names. Then the fun begins as you delve into design, including colors and garden styles. Several detailed garden plans are included to help you choose plants and decide on a layout. From there, you'll learn about soil preparation and planting, maintaining gardens &emdash;including preventing pest problems&emdash;and help in determining the culprit if problems do arise.
