These aren't blistering hot chili peppers, they're varieties you can use when cooking for kids and grandkids. AAS-winning 'New Mex' (70 days) offers 12" long 4 oz fruit with firm flesh and a mild chili flavor. Green fruits ripen to chocolate and then red, and can be eaten any time. Plants are 26" tall, and are tolerant to Tobacco Mosaic Virus. 'Garden Salsa' (73 days) is a hybrid chili pepper developed specifically for salsas. The 8" long medium-hot fruits are usually picked green for salsa (they mature red). Plants are resistant to Tobacco Mosaic Virus. 'TAM Jalapeno' (65-70 days) is a mildly pungent pepper that matures early and is excellent for pickling. Semi-compact, 22" to 24" plants yield plenty of cylindricalgreen fruits that ripen to red.
